The AGR board decided to produce a manifesto to ensure that the voice of UK graduate recruiters and developers is heard at the next general election and by the next Government. The manifesto makes a series of recommendations about the future of higher education in this country and, crucially, sets out an agenda for placing employers at the heart of these discussions.
Their calls to action include the abolition of the 50% target for participation in higher education, the phased removal of the cap on student tuition fees by 2020, and the embedding of employability skills in all degree courses. It also calls for the visa process for recruiting international graduates to be streamlined.
