Are you at the leading edge in Graduate Recruitment?

Have you heard of the Graduate Recruiters Network? Set up by GRB in January 2009 we have over 1,300 graduate recruitment professionals who discuss topics that matter to their role via an online forum and face-to-face events. Sharing best practice in a confidential environment enables members to keep at the forefront in their sector and make you a better graduate recruiter.

GRB host quarterly, invite-only events in London over lunch and this month we had our seventh meeting. Lasting two hours we started with our regular graduate recruitment overview by Carl Gilleard OBE followed by guest speaker Christina Zhang from QS Intelligence Unit exploring the findings of a global survey into Master Graduates.

Here were three topics that were discussed at length to give you a flavour.

1. Universities Challenged - Universities are to be monitored using salary data of their graduates by the Government. Is this an accurate measure of success? Where does this leave recruiters?

2. The Rise of the Intern - 31% of vacancies will be filled by candidates who have already worked for them (High Fliers Research). Recruiters need to think more strategically to secure graduate talent earlier. Do they have the budget or resources to match?

3. Humans needed, not Robots - Good interpersonal skills is a requirement that is not sector or country specific. All companies across the globe are challenged by Masters Graduates with strong academics but poor communication skills. How should interpersonal skills be assessed in the modern age?

Would you like to join and hear about future events? Please apply for membership now. It's free and offers a fantastic opportunity to develop as a professional graduate recruiter in your sector with a broad range of graduate recruiters facing the same challenges. Don't get left behind!
