An ingenious graduate has been nominated for an award after he invented 'the perfect bike for commuters'.
Londoner Dominic Hargreaves invented the Contortionist, a bicycle which folds up inside its own wheels and 'taken for a walk' - dragged by one handlebar while it rolls on its wheels. The 24-year-old also says that it is more robust than other folding bikes when being ridden.
The bicycle, which Mr Hargreaves told the London Evening Standard he hopes to put on sale next year for about ??400, has been shortlisted for a James Dyson Award for international designs.
The Royal College of Art graduate said: "I was trying to find a fold-up bike and I just couldn't find anything I liked, or that was practical. I wanted something that could take a bit of punishment and that you could have fun with, like jumping off kerbs and even going away at weekends.
"In am in discussion with several potential partners now. I'm really at the stage where the design is finished, but I need some financial backing to get things rolling."
