Corporate Finance Analyst - ?20-25k - West Midlands

Our client has grown rapidly since its formation in 1998 to become one of the UK's leading independent corporate finance advisors.

They were awarded the Independent Corporate Finance House of the year award in 2005 and have recently been nominated for the European Venture Capital Awards in late 2005.

Their range of services continue to expand, but include

-Advising management teams on management buy-outs
-Preparing a company for sale to maximise shareholder value
-Advising vendors on company sales
-Fund raising
-Advising management on company acquisitions
-Strategic reviews

The role will include:

- Gathering, analysing and preparing reports on companies and markets using various corporate finance desktop research resources and primary research techniques
- Analyse different sectors to identify attractive niche markets and identify target client companies within those markets
- Prepare exit reviews for shareholders of companies including research into potential trade and financial buyers
- Develop company valuations by building financial models incorporating the review of comparable companies and historical transactions
- Research and present investment ideas to institutional investors (VCs, banks)
- Prepare (and present) pitch documentation
- Liaise with partners, fee earners and business development staff
- Manage sector team meetings and assist in the delivery of sector related business development initiatives
- Maintain research coverage on key sectors and companies by reading trade press, attending trade shows, exhibitions, visiting companies and developing a network of expert contacts
- Contribute to international sector research teams set up within Mergers Alliance

The successful candidate will have the following:

- An excellent academic record.
- A commitment to building a career in corporate finance.
- Strong organisational skills, being able to work on a project basis and able to prioritise to complete projects in a timely fashion.
- Robust financial and analytical skill set.
- Willingness to learn new tools and methodologies, and someone who seeks to innovative in their approach to work.
- Ability to communicate and interact with other professionals within a small firm team environment.

Ideal candidates will show an interest in Corporate Finance and want to progress into a lead advisory role through on the job training and by taking the ICAEW Corporate Finance examinations.
