A number of experts have supported the proposals which will no longer concentrate on "arbitrary" qualifications. Instead they saw the plans as beneficial to both graduates and employers.
Speaking to Personnel Today, Carl Gilleard, chief executive of the Association of Graduate Recruiters, urged employers to embrace the changes introduced by PWC and to see the move as an opportunity to benefit from more talented candidates.
He said: "For employers it's important that when you are going to invest many thousands of pounds in graduates that you recruit the ones that have the potential to develop as you want them to and are likely to stay the course."
