A dental school, which will train 20 postgraduate students a year in an area of Scotland where more than 31,000 people do not have a dentist, is due to be opened by First Minister Alex Salmond.
Mr Salmond will formally open the ??17 million facility at Aberdeen Dental School accompanied by public health minister Shona Robison. The fees are paid by the Government through the Scottish Funding Council, said a university spokeswoman.
Aberdeen Dental School "will significantly increase the number of people entering the profession in Scotland", said a Government spokeswoman.

Mr Salmond and Ms Robison will tour the site, meet students, view state-of-the-art technology and meet academic and NHS staff before unveiling a plaque.
The school, which is affiliated to the University of Aberdeen, opened its doors to students in 2008, with students transferring to a new building in November last year.
A spokesman said five new practices opened and 21 dentists joined the NHS last year and confirmed that the region is not hitting national targets for registrations in some areas..
