Graduate Application Support Consultant - ?27-29k - Surrey

This company is the UK's leading specialist Business, Analytical and IT consultancy, they employ over 1500 people. Their portfolio of clients covers diverse areas such as National Security and the Public Sector, through to commercial industries such as Telecommunications, Utilities and Pharmaceuticals. Their services include business consulting, software and hardware development, technical consultancy and complex data analytics work.

My client is looking for graduates to join the team that offers a support service across the company's internal applications. The main location is in Surrey but there are also opportunities in Gloucestershire and London.

The role will see you offer critical software application support to clients using a wide range of technologies including Java, SQL Server, C++, C , Oracle, .NET and Weblogic. You will enjoy early client engagement and responsibility with exposure to a wide range of technologies providing opportunities to develop new technical skills on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities include:

-Application management support activities for complex and varying systems.
-Development skills to carry out significant enhancement work to existing applications.
-Working with Service Delivery Managers.

Due to the nature of the work the client undertakes, candidates must be eligible for security clearance - this means that you must hold a UK passport and need to have been in residence in the UK for three out of the last five years. Unfortunately candidates who hold other EU passports, IGS, SEGS or HSMP are not eligible for this clearance and so are unable to be submitted to the client for this role.

Requirements:

- A Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computing, IT or related degree.
- Substantial experience of Microsoft packages, Visual Basic, VBA and .Net.
- Exposure to a variety of technical skills and programming languages.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Strong client-centric ethic and takes pride in customer satisfaction.
- Tenacity in finding the underlying causes of problems or discrepancies to identify problems and develop sound solutions.
- The ability to maintain performance when under stress, and manage time effectively.
