Government cuts in public spending could spark a "brain drain" from Merseyside. It will be difficult for university cities outside of the South East to retain their graduates, warns a new report. This reinforces fears aired by inward investment agency The Mersey Partnership (TMP) that the region's graduates will seek jobs elsewhere. The three Liverpool universities produce 18,000 graduates annually.
