Based in Guildford as a Graduate Engineer, you will work in small teams contributing to all stages of the development lifecycle. Rather than being placed in a 'back room' lab, you'll get the opportunity to mix technical challenges with customer-facing and project management tasks to give a wide variety of work on a day-to-day basis.
Due to the nature of the work the client undertakes, candidates must be eligible for security clearance - this means that you must hold a UK passport and need to have been in residence in the UK for three out of the last five years. Unfortunately candidates who hold other EU passports, IGS, SEGS or HSMP are not eligible for this clearance and so are not able to be submitted to the client for this role.
Requirements:
Candidates are invited to apply from Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science (or related), Physics or Maths backgrounds. They are also interested in strong candidates with relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
You should be a technical enthusiast who enjoys hobbyist programming (C++ experience essential) and setting up computer hardware or applications in your spare time.
You'll have an interest, and ideally experience in, some or all of the technologies listed below:
-System Design
-Algorithm development and DSP
-Complex system management software and UI
-Real-time applications (typically C or C++)
-High speed digital electronics
-RF and analogue (low noise) electronics
-Complex FPGA design
- System knowledge in one or more of: TCP-IP, RF Communications, Audio-Video, Network Security.
You'll also have A and B grades at A-Level and will be expecting a minimum 2.1 (or equivalent) for your degree.
