A former architecture student who graduated this year has scooped a prestigious national accolade for his work with young people.
Twenty-one-year-old Vipin Dhunnoo, who graduated from the University of Greenwich, was rewarded for his mentoring at Bexley Business Academy, Eltham Hill and Blackfen Schools.
He beat off tough competition from 200 others in the National Aimhigher Awards, which seeks to reward people who have carried out effective and innovative work across the country.
The Aimhigher Associates scheme creates long-term links between young people at school and university students from a similar background, who can give them the benefit of their experience as they make important decisions about their future.
Minister for business, innovation and skills, Pat McFadden, said: "Aimhigher is a brilliant example of a programme which changes the lives of young people: it helps to give them the chance of a better future, and to realise their dreams and ambitions."
