Happy 2012 Everyone! Now Back To Looking For Graduate Roles

Graduate Jobs

Happy 2012 everyone. Merry jolly New Year and all that jazz. Ok, so 2011, not great, agreed? Good. In fact, maybe we should just put years 2008 to 2011 down as write offs.

Happy 2012 everyone. Merry jolly New Year and all that jazz. Ok, so 2011, not great, agreed? Good. In fact, maybe we should just put years 2008 to 2011 down as write offs. We will say there was a glitch in the change over from analogue or digital, or something like that.

Honestly, it hasn't been the best time to be looking for a graduate job. But now, it is a new year, which means everything will be better. And before you get all gloomy because nothings looks set to change, please take note of the following reasons which explain why happiness should be yours.

Firstly, this is only the beginning. UK unemployment may have climbed to 14 billion million trillion, but as this is only the start, just think of all those years you have ahead of you in which to work and worry. Basically, there is no need to panic or find a career for life right now.

Secondly, all is not lost. In the coming year employers will be scouring their placement schemes for the best and brightest. Use this as an opportunity to set everything in perfect order. If you missed out last year, make sure that you don't this year. Gosh, it all sounds so simple when you put it like that.

Finally, always look on the bright side of life. The key thing to remember is - famous last words here - what's the worst that can happen? Now that fate has been sufficiently tempted let us elaborate: if the jobs market has been in an awful state for the last few years, I can therefore confidently and naively state that it can get no worse. As such we can approach the new year with confidence and optimism.

Having said that, if all else fails, there is always the Olympics this year. Try auditioning for that?
