Graduates embarking on the quest for their perfect job have been advised not to lie on their CV as it could jeopardise any future employment prospects.
According to The Write Stuff, graduates should use a CV as a sales document, and it should present them in the best possible light to potential employers.
Jobseekers are warned that although they cannot be held legally liable for any lies they write, it still puts them in a bad light if they are discovered.
Peter Panayotou, senior consultant for The Write Stuff, said: "Honesty is always the best policy. Generally speaking, be as accurate as possible. That means not including things which are untrue and presenting them as facts."
The Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors has discovered that nearly one third of people in the UK have lied or embellished on their CV to increase their chances of securing a job.
