Future trainees at law firm Simmons & Simmons are to be offered the chance to enrol in its one-year MBA training course.
The firm says it will offer the course with BPP this September to 25 trainees and will make permanent the MBA option when it recruits graduates.
All potential recruits are being asked to say if they are interested in the course before they sign any Simmons & Simmons training contract.
Alex Brown, who looks after graduate recruitment at Simmons, said: "The MBA programme is not an exercise in cost-saving for us. On the contrary, it represents quite a large investment for the firm.
"It was not something we announced to coincide with the economic crisis but something we had been planning for a couple of years as part of the overall learning and development strategy for the firm.
"We want to develop commercial, business-aware young lawyers with enhanced skills and knowledge of our core industry sectors who can add value more quickly in working with our clients."
