Medical Sales Representative - ??20-25k - West Midlands

Our client is a large global leader in medical devices. They develop and market their products to help healthcare professionals treat their patients more effectively. Our client was founded over 150 years ago and now operates in over 30 countries. They have worldwide responsibility for the research and development, manufacturing and marketing of their product ranges.

After a period of training you will spend lots of time out on the road, going to appointments at a range of private and NHS hospitals across the North and West Midlands. In this role you will build and develop relationships with industry experts in all private and NHS hospitals in which endoscopic and orthopaedic surgery is practised. The types of people you will be meeting with are surgeons, theatre staff, procurement and personnel.

Endoscopy is an evolving surgical discipline with continuous introduction of new products. You will become an industry expert on these products and will recommend products to professionals that will best suit their needs. This will include time spent in operating theatres.

You will also be involved in the service support. This will involve working within critical operating theatre technology. You will be required to ensure that they are properly installed or fixed. This will include time spent in operating theatres.

Candidates do not need to be technical as training will be provided, however you must have excellent communication skills and the ability to promote a product. It would ideal if you have some understanding of the medical industry and the products you are promoting. This is not essential as training will be provided.

You will need to achieve agreed sales targets, provide customers with a high standard of service and provide technical advice to ensure optimum use of the equipment.

The essential skills for this role are as follows:

- Ideally a 2.2 or above in a Science related degree, Life Science would be ideal although other BSc degrees will be considered.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in your ability to present verbally to others.
- Strong persuasion and negotiation skills.
- You will need to have at least a year's experience in a sales role, ideally within medical pharmaceutical sales but this is not essential.
- Very driven and motivated to achieve targets.
- Must be able to drive and hold a clean driving licence. Car will be provided.
- Some knowledge of medical devices would be ideal but not essential.
- The regions covered are East Manchester, Birmingham, Yorkshire, Teesside and the West Midlands.
