Gordon Brown has unveiled plans to generate high-tech graduate jobs in Britain.
The Prime Minister pledged a ??150 million fund to encourage digital innovation in industries such as life sciences, biotechnology, low carbon and digital.
He cited his support for green technology and greater broadband provision, and hinted that up to ??1 billion from the private sector could be "levered into" the project.
The plans follow the announcement of more than ??400 million earmarked for advanced green manufacturing and low carbon energy.
Mr Brown hopes that 400,000 extra green jobs could be created with the help of private investment in low carbon technology.
He also promised an Energy Bill and a Digital Economy Bill - the former to develop four carbon capture and storage demonstration plants, the latter to underpin the Government's pledge of broadband access for all by 2012.
