Students 'need to prepare early for job search'

Graduates continue to wait until they have finished university before looking for a job, according to the Graduate Recruitment Bureau.

Graduates continue to wait until they have finished university before looking for a job, according to the Graduate Recruitment Bureau. Dan Hawes, co-founder of the company, said that despite previous graduates struggling to find work in the last couple of years, students still are not starting their job search while in education.

However, Hawes added that combining study with jobseeking could be a tricky balancing act. "I know there's lots of pressure on students to get a 2.1 or a first and trying to get a job is a full-time thing," he said.
