For a geography graduate, Debrah Harding struggled to find a route into the workplace after leaving university during the recession of the early 1990s.
She headed off towards an accountancy career, but didn't complete the qualifications. The experience did, however, leave her with a grounding in "rules, detail and process", which proved invaluable as she charted a fresh course that led to her becoming deputy director general of the Market Research Society.
