Guardian UK 300 reveals the companies across Britain that university students most want to work for once they graduate.
The joint product was put together by the Guardian newspaper and trendence, a European research institute owned by Group GTI. Data gathered was based on information provided by 17,000 students at 75 universities across the country. As well as being three times more extensive than previous lists of the UK's top graduate employers, Guardian UK 300 was compiled using methods that replicate the exact process students go through when looking for work.
The result is a credible overall ranking of the top UK's top 300 graduate employers, complemented by twenty distinct sector-specific listings.
Large-scale graduate recruiter PricewaterhouseCoopers heads the overall list, but further down there are plenty of surprises. PwC also comes out on top of the sector rankings for both accountancy & financial management and consulting.
Among other sector-leading employers are HSBC ( banking, insurance & financial services), Amnesty International, GlaxoSmithKline ( scientific R&D), and Balfour Beatty ( surveying).
"The launch of the Guardian UK 300 gives graduate employers a real choice for the first time," says trendence's UK account director Jo-Anne Coppock.
