One of a federation of trusts that manages urban environmental improvement projects is seeking local graduates to join its V Challenge programme.
Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale is offering a 13-week scheme that will improve the employability of graduates by providing project-management skills.
They will take ownership of community projects that aim to build sustainable communities in areas of need through joint action with the council.
O&R reports that recent success stories include the Heywood Skills Project, which has increased learning and training opportunities for Heywood residents.
Says project manager James Ferguson: "The success of V Challenge is giving local young people the chance to gain project management experience, through community projects for the benefit of both them and the people of Oldham and Rochdale."
Graduates get the chance to employ skills learned at university while gaining knowledge and experience of real work. The project has helped volunteers to find employment, and some are now working within Groundwork.
