About Ark Teacher Training: 

Ark Teacher Training (ATT) is a school-based programme offering the perfect mixture of theory and classroom practice to develop you into the best teacher you can be. Trainees are based in school so you are part of the community building fantastic relationships with the students from day one.

We have around 200 trainees on the programme and Summer 2023 saw our tenth cohort graduate! We are very proud we received our second ‘outstanding’ rating from Ofsted in all categories last year!

• Independent and team teaching
• Help co-planning your lessons
• Training once a week involving professional and subject-specific studies
• 1:1 coaching and mentoring
• Time built in to work on PGCE assignments (two for the year)
• Bursary’s of up to £28,000, or our starting salary is from £19,819 to £24,856 depending on location and subject

At the end of your training year, you’ll have achieved a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status. You can then progress onto our highly supportive Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction programme. We will help you secure your ECT role at your training school or another in the Ark network and guide you through your first few years of teaching. It is very rare for our trainees to leave the network after their training year and many progress into leadership roles within Ark.

Key requirements:

• Grade C/4 or above in Maths GCSE and English Language GCSE (or equivalent) and science for primary
• An undergraduate bachelor’s degree or will hold (or equivalent) prior to beginning your Initial Teacher Training   
• A degree or A level in the subject you wish to teach/or a related subject   
• The right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the programme.
