The Role:
I’m enrolled onto a 2 year graduate rotational programme in the Haematology/Oncology business unit at BMS. In the Commercial department you will be working on creating promotional campaigns and assist in executing on the commercial marketing strategy set for Cancer therapies in the UK. In the Medical Affairs team you'll be working across multiple therapeutic areas, supporting development and execution of medically led projects, working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. I’ll focus on priority areas e.g. product launches, scientific exchange and clinical trials in line with medical strategic imperatives.
The Team:
The Haematology-Oncology Business unit is a team made up of many business functions including commercial, medical HEOR, regulatory and clinical operations. These functions work closely together and are responsible for defining activities to ensure acecess to BMS medicines. The teams are also re-sponsible for planning and preparation activities related to new cancer products and indica-tions to be launched in the near future.
What will you learn?
Embark on a truly immersive two-year rotational programme where you will gain a broad and fascinating insight into our pharmaceuticals business. In the commercial rotation, you’re likely to work in a brand team designing brand activity plans or helping deliver marketing campaigns for different customer groups. You’ll also need to gather insights into customer and patient preferences, and understand which factors influence overall sales. In your medical rotation, you will gain an understanding of the Haem/Onc Medical Affairs function and how it impacts access to treatments for patients. You will get an appreciation for the collaborative approach in which medical is involved across all stages of a product’s lifecycle. You will also understand the regulations and framework within which we must work in. Your support with the team will allow you to develop your project management, communication, training and presentation skills.
What do you need to apply?
Required: Newly graduated with a life sciences degree (accepting applications from those who have graduated in 2021, 2022 and Summer 2023). The ability to understand and communicate complex scientific concepts. Effective team player able to work independently when required. Ability to manage and prioritise workload to ensure business continuity. Ability to work within complex cross-functional people matrixes, with differing priorities. Confidence and courage to challenge status quo, bring new perspectives and take key decisions.
Preferred: A PhD or Master’s qualification. An interest in building commercial awareness and business acumen. An awareness of the ABPI Code of Practice. Growth mindset, agility, and resilience.
