The 18-month Graduate Programme
Over the course of the programme, you will have direct access to our state-of-the-art resources and share in the knowledge and expertise of our industry experts. They will provide extensive mentoring & coaching opportunities to help you develop and practice your own proficiency as you transition into one of our aspiring leadership roles. We will provide the required training you need to complete your programme and for you to be successful in your working placements.
UK-Wide Placements
To ensure you get the very best experience with us, you will normally spend a minimum of 9 months across two separate locations, which will be confirmed at point of offer.
Therefore, you’ll need to be mobile and willing to relocate to any of our facilities across the UK. It is essential that you have a full manual driving licence, as regular travel to other FCC sites will also be necessary. We will ensure that your placement is secured in a location and that suits you.
Who you are:
We’re looking for enthusiastic, eager graduates with the passion and stamina for extensive learning.
You should have minimum 2:1 degree. We have the following opportunities in 2025:
- Energy for Waste (Engineering degree essential)
- Waste Treatment (Chemistry degree or similar essential)
- Collections
- Recycling
- Landfill
What we can offer you:
- Salary of £24k per annum. FCC will also offer an ‘accommodation allowance’ in addition to your salary to help with relocation & living costs whilst you are on program.
- 25 days annual leave per annum (up to 10 days unpaid leave per year, plus option to purchase 5 additional days’ annual leave per annum)

The Recruitment Process:
- Applications will close on the 28th February and shortlisting will be completed by mid-March.
- If you are successful following telephone screening/interviews, you will be invited to attend an online assessment centre, which will take place on 31st March, 1st April, 2nd April and 3rd April 2025;
- If you are successful during online assessment, you will be invited to attend an in-person 2-day assessment centre on 29th April 2025, in Doncaster.
- If successful, your start date is expected to be Tuesday 16th September 2025.
