The Role

As an automation consultant you will be working on projects with the clients, customers, and partners defining, designing, building and commissioning automation and orchestration functionally using the client's product suite. This is not your usual software engineering role; it's a highly technical and varied role incorporating everything from working closely with clients to define their requirements, through to designing, building and commissioning complex automation software solutions.
Day to day duties will be varied and could include:
- Software configuration
- Writing of software code
- Testing systems, configurations and software
- Commissioning and sign off of projects
- Technical documentations
- Pre-sales support
This role is suitable for a candidate who loves technology but wants something different from pure software development. The role will involve lots of client interaction and the chance to travel internationally to work on-site with high profile clients.
The offices are in Southampton, while training and settling in you will be expected to work from the office to receive mentoring, training and support. Once you are up to speed there is flexibility with regard to remote/hybrid working.
About You
- Ideally you will have worked for a year in industry in a technical role, or have some post grad work experience in a role where you have built some transferable skills
- Programming skills: exposure to software programming ( regardless of language but focused on Microsoft technologies ( .Net, Powershell) and SQL
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Flexible to travel and to work with clients in the UK and internationally
