Graduate External Relations Officer

An exciting opportunity for a recent graduate, looking to gain experience across fundraising activities, event delivery, alumni relations, and administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Development:

• Monitor the fundraising inbox, acting as the first point of contact for inquiries
• Assist with donor communication and retention, including implementing a regular giving strategy
• Provide additional support during peak times such as annual events, open days, and giving days
• Organising fundraising events and processing data in the development database
• Ensure compliance with ethical fundraising practices
• Help implement a donor stewardship program to maintain regular contact with donors

Alumni Relations:

• • Support alumni engagement
  • Assist in organising alumni events and maintaining an archive of photos and memorabilia
  • Promote events and news on social media

Information Management:

• • Maintain detailed records on the development database and ensure GDPR compliance
  • Gather and manage data for fundraising activities and events

What do You Need?

• A 2:1 (or equivalent) in any subject
• Work experience and extracurricular activities during your time in education
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• An interest in fundraising and development
• The ability to take initiative and get involved
• Some prior experience of independent education and/ or educational bursaries would be a bonus
• Either a driving license and access to a car or based close to a train station with good access across Surrey
