The NGDP Finance Graduate Scheme is a new specialised stream within the National Graduate Development Program (NGDP) designed for graduates who want to pursue a career in public finance. It offers a unique and tailored development pathway into local government and other public services for aspiring finance professionals.
What is the role?
Working at one of 21 participating London councils, including the London MET police service, you’ll build up experience in all the important areas of finance. Working across a participating organisation, you’ll gain exposure in all the important areas of finance, including financial systems, budget preparation and monitoring, payroll, pensions, treasury, internal audit and accounting while studying for a fully funded CIPFA Level 7 Apprenticeship, which includes The Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy’s Professional Accountancy Qualification (CIPFA PAQ), which is the key qualification for anyone pursuing a career in public finance management.

The NGDP Finance scheme recruits graduates from all backgrounds, universities and degree disciplines, this programme is open to graduates from all degree backgrounds with a 2.2 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) by July 2024, GSCE Maths and English (Level 4 or equivalent).
