What type of things will I be working on?
This 2.5 year rotational graduate programme, starting September 2025, consists of five 6-month rotations where placements, projects, and activities are aligned to your development ambitions - always involving work on real value-adding activities and projects delivering tangible business benefits.
Today’s Quality Engineer is far from somebody who measures things or audits processes; the role is fast-paced, exciting, and varied dealing with reactive challenges as well as proactive developments to ensure all areas of manufacturing provide the best possible service.
You will develop wide awareness and knowledge base as well as identify any areas of personal interest for you to focus on for your future. You will be working closely with our design, procurement, engineering, and operational teams.
Key areas you will build skills in include:
- Hands on technical activities: You will learn to interpret technical specifications, empowering you to influence Design for Manufacture, enhancing product design and manufacturing controls.
- Proactive development: You will actively contribute to ongoing projects while identifying opportunities for new initiatives that improve assembly, manufacturing, and product quality.
- Reactive support: You will manage challenges as they arise by assessing impacts and implementing immediate solutions, collaborating with stakeholders to identify root causes and solutions.
What career opportunities are available?
By the end of the scheme, you will have identified your preferred specialisation and will benefit from further training and mentoring. You are likely to transition into a permanent role, taking on key responsibilities, with opportunities to advance to senior engineer, principal technical expert, or managerial positions. You may also find potential in other manufacturing areas where your quality training can add value.
What’s on offer?
- £30k starting salary plus £1000 sign-on bonus.
- Flexible & hybrid working available (team dependent).
- Fantastic training including core skills training plus access to a learning and development courses platform.
- Bonus scheme & 9% pension contribution.
- Lots of perks including full medical insurance, access to onsite fitness centres & onsite subsidised restaurants.
Where will I be working?
This role is based out of one of our main sites in Woodchester near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire. Since our Renishaw sites are located in semi-rural areas, applicants should ensure they have reliable means of transport to reach the site, as public transportation options may be limited. Alternatively, applicants should be willing to relocate to the local area.
There will be an expectation to travel to the other Gloucestershire sites (New Mills and Stonehouse) as well as potentially short trips to our Miskin, site in South Wales.
What do I need?
We’re looking for graduates in a relevant STEM discipline or management field (e.g. Operations, Project Management or Business).
Training and development is excellent so candidates with no experience but a keen interest will be strongly considered. If you are excited about the role but feel as though you don’t meet all the requirements, we would encourage you still to apply. You might just be the right person for this role or another graduate opportunity at Renishaw.
