What type of things will I be working on?
On this 2-year Graduate Scheme, starting September 2025, you’ll contribute to developing and enhancing software for our diverse range of products, including metrology instrumentation, machine tools, encoders, and additive manufacturing systems.
What you’ll do:
- Engage in four 6-month rotations over two years, working with various software teams throughout the Software Development Lifecycle
- Tackle challenging tasks that contribute to product delivery, with opportunities for both independent and collaborative work
- Apply programming languages like C# and C++ with WPF UI, while gaining experience in Agile methodologies and extensive codebases

What career opportunities are available?
Training and support are offered as required on a continuing basis to support your technical and professional development. Software Graduates go onto roles such as Senior Software Engineers, Principal Engineers or Technical Managers with further progression opportunities based on skills development, performance, and preference.

Where will I be working?
This role is based out of one of our main sites near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire. Since our Renishaw sites are located in semi-rural areas, applicants should ensure they have reliable means of transport to reach the site, as public transportation options may be limited. Alternatively, applicants should be willing to relocate to the local area.
What do I need?
We’re looking for candidates with a 2:1 or above in a relevant subject such as Computer Science or Software. Other STEM subjects will be considered such as Physics or Maths if you have an interest or experience in coding.
Training and development is excellent so candidates with no experience but a keen interest in embedded software will be strongly considered. If you are excited about the role but feel as though you don’t meet all the requirements, we would encourage you still to apply.
