Safran is a leading international high-technology group with two core business areas: aerospace and defence. Its 92,000 employees work across more than 276 locations and 27 countries, with limitless opportunity on offer within aerospace for the design, production and maintenance of aircraft landing gear, electrical systems and engine nacelles.
As one of the world’s most innovative companies, Safran develops everything from jet engines, landing systems and helicopter flight controls, through to optronic systems, nacelles, seats and interiors.
By joining Safran, you’ll have the chance to shape and influence our exciting future, as you learn from our experts and take part in ground-breaking projects.
Our UK Graduate Programme
Our Safran UK site, in Pitstone Buckinghamshire, is the Electrical and Power ‘Centre of Excellence’ for all commercial and military aircraft, power generation and motor system applications. We specialise in the design, development and testing of mechanical and electromechanical systems, encompassing both oil and air-cooled technologies. Additionally, our state-of-the-art ENGINeUS and GENeUS products are leading the electric propulsion market of the future.
We recognise that aviation needs to innovate and change in order to protect our environment. We truly believe that future aircraft power systems will be hybrid-electric or full-electric, which is why we are working to develop and deliver advanced electrical solutions to help decarbonise flight. In addition to supporting the next generation of traditional aircraft, we are also working to support new technologies that will revolutionise the way we fly.
What will I be doing on this graduate programme?
Our Graduate Scheme gives you the chance to be embedded within our Engineering department and to work hands on across different projects through 3 to 6 month rotations. The capabilities you’ll develop could include: Thermal or thermal dynamics, Rotor dynamics, Systems engineering, Electromechanical design, Verification & Validation, Materials engineering, Electromagnetic engineering, Simulation, Engineering Processes & Configuration and Product design.
What’s on offer?
- A £30k starting salary, plus access to benefits including health schemes, employee assistance programme, competitive pension scheme etc.
- Fantastic training opportunities, including being enrolled on the Graduate training programme coordinated by Safran University and previous graduates being available as support buddies.
