Join the forefront of renewable energy with Future Biogas
Established in 2010, Future Biogas has grown rapidly and is now at the forefront of the Anaerobic Digestion (AD) industry. We are a highly regarded developer and operator of 12 AD plants across the UK, providing full asset management service capabilities of development, construction, operations, maintenance, finance and compliance.
Our plants convert a wide range of feedstocks into renewable energy through a process of anaerobic digestion which produces biogas. Biogas can either be used to generate green electricity or upgraded into biomethane and injected into the UK’s national gas network. Future Biogas employs over 160 people with Head Offices in Guildford and AD plants in Norfolk, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire to name a few.
In an effort to help push the industry beyond reliance on subsidies, Future Biogas is pioneering the UK’s first unsubsidised green gas and bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) with “Project Carbon Harvest”. The project aims to help decarbonising farming, support food production, build soil carbon, deliver biomethane to industrial partners as a green gas and permanently sequester biogenic CO2.
More about our people
Future Biogas place great importance on training and equipping our people for the future. We aim to add to the skill sets of all our graduates with a combination of targeted training, mentorship and regular meetings to share best practice.
We are focused on training a valued task force and Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Management are a fundamental part of our day-to-day business, adopting best practice in SHEQ, and adhering to relevant environmental legislation.
We have a passion to grow the next generation of AD operators and we are proud to have several graduates and apprentices on our team.

Working for us…
Don’t just take it from us, hear what other graduates have to say about kick-starting their career in Bioenergy with Future Biogas.
Zainab Ahmad – Renewable Energy Graduate
After graduating in June 2023 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) I was looking forward to my new role as a Renewable Energy Graduate at Future Biogas. During my first year I have been working with the Bioprocess team on the data optimisation project. This project involves going to different sites and seeing how they operate day to day. Being able to learn more about what each team does has been the part of the scheme that I have enjoyed the most. I’m looking forward to moving to other projects and learning more about the company!
