Summer Internship – Internal Audit Department Europe (IADE)

The Internship programme is a 10-week programme starting in June 2025.  The aim is that successful interns will be offered a permanent position on the 2026 Mizuho Graduate Programme (commencing September 2026).

Your salary is highly competitive, in line with salaries offered by other London Corporate Investment Banks.

What will I be doing?

Mizuho employs a Three Lines of Defence approach to risk management, with Internal Audit serving as the Third and final Line. Operating independently, Internal Audit assesses the effectiveness of key control processes from the first and second lines and validates the remediation of audit issues.

Our team consists of over 30 professionals who conduct comprehensive reviews across all of Mizuho's activities, including wholesale banking, trading, support functions, and targeted deep-dives in London and across Europe. With a holistic view of the entire Bank, Internal Audit plays a critical role in safeguarding Mizuho’s operations.

As an intern, you will work within one or more project-based teams, each focused on a specific review or audit. You will receive hands-on training to plan and execute audits and gain valuable exposure to stakeholders across the Bank.

What skills and qualifications do I need? 

Applicants to the Mizuho 2025 Intern Programme will be in their penultimate year of undergraduate study and be available for permanent employment from September 2026.
