Electronics Summer Placement

Our summer placements can expect to be an integral part of a project team, whose objective is to research, design, develop and deliver the next generation of Renishaw products. The scheme will enhance your current skills and knowledge, feeding your desire to learn about the world of electronic engineering.
What will I be doing?
During your time with Renishaw, you will benefit from first-hand experience of some of the following:
- Blue-sky project research.
- Industry standard New Product Development Processes.
- Practical electronics skills (soldering, commissioning, fault finding).
- Analogue and digital circuits design, analysis, simulation and testing.
- Printed circuit boards design.
- Prototyping techniques.
- Algorithms and Software development (using C++, C#, Python, Matlab, etc.)
- Embedded systems development (using DSPs, FPGAs, microcontrollers, etc.)
All of this, under the guidance and mentorship of senior engineers who will help broaden your technical and commercial skills, will enable you to achieve your potential.
Opportunities are available for placements between 6 and 12 weeks.
Where will I be working?
This role is based out of Renishaw's New Mills head office near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire. Please note Renishaw is in a semi-rural location therefore it is essential that you have your own form of transport or are willing to relocate to the area
What skills and qualifications do I need?
Ideally you will be studying at sixth form or university in a relevant field such as Electronics, Physics, or other STEM subjects with an interest in Electronics.
