What type of things will I be working on?
This 12-month industrial placement, starting September 2024, offers you the opportunity to understand and interact with cutting edge technology within a precision electro-mechanical and optical assembly environment. It will provide the chance to learn more about what a career in a modern manufacturing facility really means and provide an excellent insight into how a manufacturing organisation interacts with the entire business operation.
You will be given relevant value-adding projects and responsibilities related to your interests and discipline studied. The entire placement is spent within the Manufacturing Services Division to enable you to get fully integrated into the team, where you will be mentored and supported by the technical staff and our senior managers in the function of electronics and integrated engineering. The role will cover both proactive and reactive support, with a mixture of hands-on and office-based activities
You will be joining a positive growth culture where both personal and technical development is encouraged and supported. You will gain significant exposure to effective soft skills such as decision-making, communicating, presenting, networking, negotiating, teamworking, time-management, and problem solving, in addition to gaining technical proficiency in electronics process design, systems integration (mechatronic and software), project planning, and automation.

Where will I be working?
This role is based out of our Miskin site in South Wales. As Renishaw sites are based in semi-rural locations, applicants must have their own form of transport or be willing to relocate to the local area.
Placements are also available at our site in Woodchester, Gloucestershire.
What do I need and how do I apply?
This placement scheme is suitable for students who are required to undertake a sandwich placement as part of their degree course. We encourage applications from all STEM disciplines, especially electronics engineering, integrating engineering, mechanical engineering and physics.
Training and development is excellent so candidates with no experience but a keen interest in engineering will be strongly considered.
