A summer placement at Renishaw provides the chance to learn about the day-to-day reality of working in a world class manufacturing environment.
This will offer you the opportunity to understand and interact with cutting edge technology within a precision mechanical, electronic, and optical environment. It provides an insight into what a career in a modern manufacturing facility really means and how it interacts with the entire business operation.
You will be given relevant projects and responsibilities related to your interests and discipline studied and be mentored and supported by the technical staff and our senior managers.
Opportunities are available for placements between 6 and 12 weeks.
What will I be doing?
You will be encouraged to participate in the relevant areas; either assembly engineering or manufacturing engineering (both areas having process development, process support, and project engineering functions) with activities such as:
- Process design
- Project planning
- Performances analytics
- Problem solving and hands-on support
Where will I be working?
Placements are available at Renishaw's major manufacturing site in Woodchester, Gloucestershire. This is a semi-rural location therefore it is essential that you have your own form of transport or are willing to relocate to the area.
What skills and qualifications do I need?
- Studying any STEM subject at university or sixth form
- Have a genuine interest in engineering and technology
- Be enthusiastic and motivated
