What type of things will I be working on?
This summer placement offers you the chance to learn more about what a career in medical devices (specifically those intended for neurosurgical applications) really means and provides an excellent insight into the wide range of activities involved in the development of medical devices, from concept to regulatory approval and ultimately, placement on the market.
You will be encouraged to participate in the relevant areas:
- Product design/development
- Process improvement
- Quality, regulatory, change control
- Clinical aspects

Where will I be working?
This role is based out of one of our main sites near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire. Since our Renishaw sites are located in semi-rural areas, applicants should ensure they have reliable means of transport to reach the site, as public transportation options may be limited. Alternatively, applicants should be willing to relocate to the local area.
What do I need?
Ideally you will be studying for a degree in Medical Engineering or similar. Sixth form students will also be considered who are studying STEM subjects with an interest in Medical Devices.
Training and development is excellent so candidates with no experience but a keen interest in engineering will be strongly considered. If you are excited about the role but feel as though you don’t meet all the requirements, we would encourage you still to apply.
