Renishaw - Operations Management Placement Year

Renishaw offers exciting opportunities for placement students on a year-long immersion programme designed to develop ambitious, talented, and self-motivated individuals into skilled experts in their chosen field.

What Will I Gain From This Placement Year?

Each placement will involve working on live projects under the guidance and expertise of experienced colleagues. As well as gaining hands on experience in your chosen field, you will have the opportunity to connect with people working in the business and discuss your career ambitions and ideas with employees in similar roles. 

What Will I Be Doing On This Placement?

As a placement student within our operations management function, you will rotate through several core business areas within the manufacturing services division including production management, materials management, logistics, project management, and supply chain.

You will gain knowledge and experience within:

• Material Control - planning the material requirements to support the assembly build of a Renishaw product range.

• Production Scheduling - provides graduates with experience of planning resources effectively to meet demand requirements and machine utilisation targets.

• Supply Chain - graduates will gain experience of liaising with external suppliers, problem solving and negotiation, cost control, risk management, establishing contracts, and efficiency improvement projects as well as working with production and internal design teams.

Where Will I Be Working?

This role is based at our site in Miskin, South Wales. As Renishaw sites are based in semi-rural locations, it is essential that applicants have their own form of transport or are willing to relocate to the local area.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

The operational management industrial placement scheme at Renishaw is suitable for students who are required to undertake a sandwich placement as part of their degree course. Relevant courses include business, economics, maths, or a STEM subject (however any degree will be considered with strong interest in the role).
