We embed our placements within Renishaw software development teams across the business, contributing directly to our current product development as a team member.
Renishaw operates in two major areas of industry - Industrial Metrology and Positional Measurement. We are also expanding into Additive Manufacturing, Healthcare and Robotics and our placements are spread across those industries.
Programming languages applied are usually C# and C++ with WPF UI and occasionally others depending upon the desired solution and platform that the software is to run on. Teams will expose you to a variety of software development methodologies and approaches, including Agile based lifecycles, and work will be pitched according to your ability throughout the placement.
What will I be doing?
The majority of placements get involved in a project during their time with us, and projects can be with our Product, Web and Mobile Apps, UI controls, 3D Rendering, Testing or Applications Management teams where you can gain a real insight into working in a software development environment.
Opportunities are available for placements between 6 and 12 weeks.
Where will I be working?
This role is based out of Renishaw's New Mills head office near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire. Please note Renishaw is in a semi-rural location therefore it is essential that you have your own form of transport or are willing to relocate to the area
What skills and qualifications do I need?
Ideally you will be studying at sixth form or university in Computer Science or another related subject with practical exposure to programming.
